Online Filing
The ITA's online system (Shaam) allows electronic submission of annual returns. Online filing provides: automatic one-month extension (to May 31), immediate confirmation of receipt, automatic calculations, and the ability to easily amend returns. Most CPAs submit returns electronically on behalf of their clients through the representative system.
Steps
- Log in to the ITA website with personal credentials or through a CPA
- Enter income from all sources (or upload data from Forms 106/867)
- Enter deductions and credits
- Review the automatic tax calculation
- Submit the return and receive confirmation
- Pay any balance due or request a refund
